Pittsburgh Grout and Tile Cleaning

This grout and ceramic tile cleaning job was for a business in West Mifflin PA. For security reasons the doors could not be kept open, so we were not able to use our truckmount. Did that mean we wouldn't be able to get the results we hoped for. Not at all!

Not only was the grout filthy,
there were 7 large rust spots on the ceramic tile from metal poles. So we used a strong pH cleaner, and scrubbed with our Cimex machine. It almost removed all the rust, but I could still see a few tiles with a light outline of rust. I followed with a strong cleaner of the opposite pH that had a boost of peroxide, and then ran the Cimex again; this totally removed the rest of the rust. And the grout turned out amazing. The Office manager said " Dan and Jen, I wanted to touch base with you to let you know how pleased my bosses were with the job you did on the floors. They couldn’t get over how nice they all looked. In fact, they were the talk of the employees on Monday morning –everyone commenting on how awesome they looked. Thanks for everything."
Most Cleaners would not go to this great a effort on a commercial job. We are not most cleaners. Call us today 412-414-3828

Pet Odor and Pet Stain Removal

We love our pets; we love them like family. But our dogs and cats do make mistakes sometimes -- and other times they can be just plain misbehaving! Most companies in Pittsburgh offer “pet odor control,” but we offer “pet odor removal” -- removing the unwanted pet urine and odors, bringing a breath of fresh air to your home.

Can we 100% guarantee that we can remove the odors? Yes and no. Why do we say that? As long as you are keeping the culprit (puppy or kitty) in the home, we can’t guarantee that they won’t do it again. But we can guarantee that you will be happy with your freshly cleaned carpet, upholstery, or mattress. We can also guarantee that we will not clean your fine things in a way that will be a breeding ground for bacteria.

Some cleaners will tell you that carpet cleaning will disinfect your carpet-- but that’s a myth. The high heat and water from the carpet cleaning only provides the bacteria and others nasties the exact environment they need to grow. So what can be done?

Urine is acidic as it comes out, but as the bacteria grows it changes the urine to alkaline. Most carpet cleaning products are alkaline, and that’s why the spots are not going away when you try to do it yourself -- in fact you could just be setting the stain more. We clean with a carpet-safe acidic cleanser to remove the urine, and use a product that kills the bacteria. We can saturate the infected area with the anti-bacterial product and then extract it with a specialized tool, or inject a bacteria-eating enzyme product into the pad.

Do you really need to get your carpets cleaned every year?

When it comes to carpet cleaning in Pittsburgh, even a carpet that appears to be not too dirty is filled with hidden dirt. That’s not a bad thing -- as long as you hire a carpet cleaner once a year or so -- because carpet acts as a filter in your home, trapping airborne dust and dirt.

Vacuuming helps to take out the trapped dirt, but you really need to have it “washed.” I like to think of it this way: Imagine placing a nice white t-shirt on the floor and walking on it every day for six months... is running the vacuum over it going to make it clean like new? It needs the washing machine!

So realize that even if you think your carpet isn’t dirty, it is -- that’s just how carpet works. In fact, that’s why carpet manufactures require you to have your carpet professionally cleaned every year in order to keep your warranty valid.

Carpet manufacturers are starting to tie their carpet warranties to the use of green chemicals. "The six largest carpet manufacturers in the United States, including Shaw, Mohawk and Bolyu, have independently decided to tie their carpet warranties to the exclusive use of CRI Seal of Approval cleaning chemicals and equipment," says CRI's Braun.

So yes, you should get your carpets cleaned regularly! It's good for your carpets and for your health.
